Hopkins Motorsport have now evolved into one of the largest manufacturers of Race transporters in Europe and unlike many of our competitors, we maintain a loyal staff of bodybuilders, fabricators, carpenters/joiners, electricians and painters continuously year in year out rather than just through the busy season. This enables Hopkins Motorsport to have all the core strengths to hand at any time and also the majority of staff to hand to service repair race transporters that they have previously built.
We have grown from building the most basic of transporters on used chassis’s in the early days to some of the most specific detailed evolutionary race transporters on the market in 2009, whilst still remembering our grass roots offering base transporters and used transporters from approx £40,000. On average we produce between 22 and 26 race transporters a year averaging approximately 15 for delivery between the end of January and the end of March and the remainder along with various other vehicles such as mobile catering, film units other hospitality vehicle for the remainder of the season.
Our core business has changed significantly to mainly bespoke race transporters built to order only on new or used chassis, to keep the build times to a minimum we try to keep various part built transporters in stock that can be finished internally and externally to suit.
New Chassis: We manufacture our own bespoke double deck chassis to keep build times to a minimum. This chassis can be developed or tailor adapted to suit any teams specific requirements.
Used Chassis: We also have a large stock of used year 2008 double deck trailers pre-conversion that can be finished to any standard. Finished example 361
Tail Lifts: We are agents/suppliers of Dhollandia 2 tier tail lifts and we always have new 2,500kg lifts in stock. We also have a selection of used Wilson Dhollandia 2 tier lifts in stock that can be fitted with new platforms and hydraulic folding mechanisms to fit any vehicle.
Awnings: We supply new awnings from the Awning Company and also Stegmeir and we always have new 13.6m x 7m awnings in stock for next day fitting, and can supply and fit any shape/size awning to your vehicle. We can also supply storage trolleys or wall mounted brackets for the storage of your awning. We sometimes have used awnings also available.
Paintwork Refurbishment: We operate two commercial paint bays that can work to any standard required from club level motorsport to Formula 1. We paint on average 2 race transporters a week on site using our own team of painters and preparers working to whatever standard is required using ICI products.
Internal cabinets: We keep Lista and Fami draw cabinets in stock we also manufacture all the overhead lockers and any other lockers you may find in a transporter in house keep build times to a minimum.
Generators: We are able to supply and fit any generator to suit your own specific requirements. We manufacture our own 11 15kva 3cyld,1500rpm diesel generators to fit the most compact vehicles along with fitting standard 6.6Kw Honda silent generators in our base transporters. We also provide options from Kohler Cumins for ultra silent marine application between 7 and 16Kw up to 125Kw sets for F1
Compressors: We fit either Hydrovane HV02’s or a bespoke soft start piston engine compressor depending on budget, or to suit client requirements.
Slide out Pods: Like most parts of the vehicle we design and manufacture our own slide out pods and hydraulic roof systems.
General: We have in stock over 90% of any of the parts we require to build any form of transporter if we do not build it ourselves. We are happy to supply any of these components from door handles, tail lifts, front domes, Windows etc. The bottom line is we will build what ever you the client wants.
